Beatnyk in collaboration with Kalaki hosted an evening dedicated to the intersection of code, sound and community at Unwind Centre, Chennai. This session was a two-part exploration into the world of live-coding - An improvisational practice where software becomes a fluid instrument and algorithms are written in real-time to generate music and sounds.

Part I: The Practice

Beatnyk broke down his personal workflow, the tools of the trade and the philosophy of the “Algorave.” Expect a live-coding demonstration where we’ll look under the hood of how conventional sound design is sculpted through algorithmic logic.

Part II: The Sound

The evening then transitioned into an informal listening session for the recently released Algorave India Compilation (done in collaboration with code.drift community and releases under Antariksh Records). A space to experience the record, discuss the collaborative process, and chat about the future of tech-art in India.
